Artifacts are documents and generated outputs the AI creates in Chat. webAI saves them so you can return later. Open the Artifacts tab to browse everything, organized by chat conversation. In Chat, documents and artifacts no longer appear twice in the thread. Use Show in Artifacts on an item in the conversation to open it here.

What you can do

  • Browse by conversation. See chats that produced artifacts, then open a conversation to view each artifact.
  • Search, filter, and sort the Artifacts list.
  • Share an artifact: copy as markdown, email it, or send it to a conversation in Messages.
  • Preview or view as code, then copy or download an artifact to your Mac.
  • Open from Chat. Use Show in Artifacts in a conversation, or open code and HTML in the Chat side panel with View / Preview.

Browse by conversation

On the Artifacts tab, conversations that have artifacts appear as tiles. Each tile shows the chat title, a short preview, and details such as file type and how many artifacts that chat produced. Click a conversation tile to open that chat’s artifacts. The breadcrumb shows Artifacts and the conversation name.

Filter and sort

Use the filter control on the Artifacts home to narrow and order the list: Show
  • All: every conversation with artifacts
  • Yours: artifacts from your own chats
  • Shared with you: artifacts others have shared with you
Each option shows a count. Under Sort, choose A → Z to order the list alphabetically. You can also use search on the Artifacts home to find what you need.

Open artifacts from a conversation

After you open a conversation tile, you see each artifact from that chat (name and last edited time). Click an artifact to open it.

Share an artifact

From the conversation’s artifact list, use Share on an artifact to open Share artifact. You can also share from inside an open artifact.

Click Share on the artifact (from the list or the artifact window).

Choose how to share

  • Copy as markdown: copy the artifact content to your clipboard.
  • Email: share the artifact by email.
  • Send to a conversation: search for people or group chats and send the artifact in Messages.
If you do not have contacts or group chats yet, the send section shows that there is nothing to share with yet. Connect with people in Contacts first.

Preview, code, copy, and download

When you open an artifact, use the Preview and Code toggle to switch how you view it. From Chat, code and HTML can also open in a side panel next to the thread. That panel uses a View / Preview toggle. Preview renders styled, interactive pages. In the top right of the artifact window you can:
  • Share again (same options as above)
  • Copy the content
  • Download the artifact to your Mac
