Online & Connectors is where you connect Slack so Chat and Personas can use it, and where you review recent tool actions. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Settings, then Online & Connectors.

How tools work

A local model can answer from what you type. Tools let it also look things up or take an action outside the chat. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the shared format for those tools. When Slack is connected, Slack tools are available to the model. In Chat, the model can pick a tool that fits your request. webAI runs that call on this computer and logs it under Recent tool actions. You do not pick the tool name yourself. You ask in Chat, and the model chooses when a tool helps. You can also assign a tool to a Persona so that Persona can use it. See Personas.

What Slack can do

After Slack is connected, Chat can use these Slack tools. The names below are what appear under Recent tool actions.
slack_search_messages searches your workspace for messages that match a topic, person, or keywords.
slack_get_channel_history retrieves recent messages from one channel, group, or DM.
slack_list_channels lists channels across the workspace.
slack_list_user_conversations lists channels and DMs you are in.
slack_lookup_users resolves a Slack person to an ID, name, and username.
slack_post_message posts a message to a channel or DM. webAI asks you to approve before it sends.
slack_reply_in_thread replies in an existing thread. webAI asks you to approve before it sends.

Disconnect Slack

Open the connected Slack row, then disconnect it. Confirm Disconnect. The saved Slack connection is removed. Chat can no longer use Slack tools until you connect it again.

Action history

Recent tool actions lists tool attempts on this computer. Each row shows when it ran, the tool name, whether it was a read or a write, and the result. Slack reads show as Read. Posts and replies show as Write. Other tools can appear in this list too. For example, a web search can log here without a Slack connection. Click Clear to empty the list. That does not disconnect Slack.
