# Canvas

> Open a comparison, plan, document, or drawing in the center of Home, then pin it or keep working on it.

The canvas is the visual workspace on [Home](https://developers.webai.com/using-webai/chat.md). After you send a prompt, a comparison, plan, document, or drawing can open in the center, while Chat keeps the prose. Click **Home** in the left sidebar.

## Use a view

**1. Open Home**

Click **Home** in the left sidebar. The canvas is in the center. Chat is on the right.

**2. Ask for a view**

Send a prompt in Chat, or click a starter on the canvas. Type `/` and pick a skill when you want a specific kind of view.

When smart actions are on, Home offers four starts. Connected feeds can shape those tiles. See the [Privacy Policy](https://www.webai.com/privacy).

**3. Read the view**

The canvas shows the comparison, plan, document, or drawing for that reply. A later unpinned view can replace the last one.

**4. Keep or change it**

**Pin to canvas** keeps the view while newer ones arrive underneath. **Unpin from canvas** releases it. **Copy** copies the text. **Edit in Docs** opens a document you can keep working on.

## webAI Draw

Type `/` in Chat and pick a Draw skill. The drawing lands on the canvas. Manage these skills from [Skills](https://developers.webai.com/using-webai/skills.md).

**webAI Draw: Systems** draws an isometric picture of a network, data pipeline, or connected devices.

**webAI Draw: Diagrams** draws a flowchart, sequence, tree, or cycle. Click a step to read more.

**webAI Draw: Plots** graphs an equation or formula. Use the sliders to change it.

**webAI Draw: Anatomy** draws an interactive isometric cutaway of a physical mechanism.

A prompt can also draw when you ask for a visual. Picking a Draw skill asks for that style.

## Knowledge on the canvas

When a Persona answers from documents it can read, the canvas can show the passages as a board. Click a passage to open the source. Click **N of M claims backed** to see which claims a passage backs. A source on a connected device shows as text, without a page preview.

## Send a picture of the canvas

Ask the assistant to send a picture of the canvas by iMessage, Mail, or Slack. Click **Send** or **Cancel**. Slack uploads that need a new grant use **Reconnect** under [Connectors](https://developers.webai.com/settings/connectors.md). Sending uses that service, so the picture can leave this device. ## Apple windows

When the assistant works in Calendar, Mail, Messages, Notes, Reminders, or Contacts, the canvas can show that app in a small window. Click **Send** or **Cancel**, or edit a send there. Connect the Apple app under [Connectors](https://developers.webai.com/settings/connectors.md) first. macOS asks for Automation access the first time. Those apps are outside webAI, so the work can leave this app. See the [Privacy Policy](https://www.webai.com/privacy).

## Live peek

After a change, click **Watch in Mail**, or **Watch in** with that app's name. That path needs Screen Recording permission. Click **Allow** if macOS asks. Nothing is captured until you click Watch. Capture runs while the tile is open.
