# Create a Space

> Make a Space and invite someone from Contacts.

This walkthrough makes a Space and invites someone who is already in Contacts. To use channels, ask a question, or share a file, see [Spaces](/using-webai/spaces).

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Spaces">
    Click **Spaces** in the left sidebar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name it">
    Click **New space**. Give it a **Space name**. **Create** stays off until the name has text. **Description** is optional.

  <Step title="Create it and open it">
    Click **Create**. Click the new Space on the list.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invite someone">
    Click **Invite contact**, then **Invite** next to a person. They join the Space. You do not send a code.

  An Admin can invite a contact. If the list is empty, add someone in [Contacts](/using-webai/contacts), then come back.
