# Create a scheduled task

> Open Scheduled Tasks, create a New Task, pick a Persona and schedule, then Create task.

This walkthrough creates a task on **Scheduled Tasks**. To pause, edit, run one now, or ask for a task in Chat, see [Scheduled Tasks](/using-webai/scheduled-tasks).

  <Step title="Open Scheduled Tasks">
    Click **Scheduled Tasks** in the left sidebar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start a new task">
    Click **New Task**. **Create scheduled task** opens.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name it and write the prompt">
    Fill in **Name** and **Prompt**. For example, name it `Morning brief` and write a short prompt you want the Persona to run.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a Persona">
    Choose a **Persona**. It starts on **Auto**, which decides the tools when the task runs.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose when it runs">
    Under **Schedule**, set **Repeats** to **Daily**, then pick a time under **Runs at**.

  <Step title="Create it">
    Click **Create task**. The task appears under **Upcoming** with its next run.

  You can also ask in [Chat](/using-webai/chat), such as "remind me every morning", then click **Open Scheduled tasks** on the reply. See [Create a task from chat](/using-webai/scheduled-tasks#create-a-task-from-chat).

  Keep webAI open when a task is due. Tasks do not run while webAI is closed.
