# Create a Persona

> Create a Persona and open a chat with it.

This walkthrough makes a Persona and starts a chat with it. To find one or change one you already have, see [Personas](/using-webai/personas).

  <Step title="Open Personas">
    Click **Personas** in the left sidebar.

  <Step title="Start a new one">
    Click **Create a persona**. The **New persona** panel opens beside the list.

    <Note>On a smaller window, this opens full screen instead of beside the list.</Note>

  <Step title="Name it">
    Give it a **Name** and say how you want it to sound. Click **Shuffle** if you want a suggestion. Click **Continue**.

  <Step title="Walk the rest">
    The next frames ask what it should do, which tools it may use, and which docs it should read. Click **Continue** to move on. You can leave a frame as it is.

  <Step title="Create it and chat">
    On the last frame, look over the **System prompt**. Edit it if you want, then click **Create**. Click the new card to start a chat.
