# Chat with Personas

> Open a Persona and send a prompt.

This walkthrough opens a Persona and sends a prompt. To create one, or to change who answers from Chat, see [Personas](/using-webai/personas) and [Chat](/using-webai/chat).

  <Step title="Open Personas">
    Click **Personas** in the left sidebar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open a Persona">
    Click the Persona you want. A chat opens with that Persona.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send a prompt">
    Type what you want. It does not have to be a question. Click the send icon.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use the reply">
    The reply writes into the thread. **Copy** copies the finished reply.
  </Step>

<Tip>
  You can also start in [Chat](/using-webai/chat), click the Persona icon, and pick a Persona. Leave that icon on **Auto** if you want webAI to choose who answers. What to do with the reply is on [Chat](/using-webai/chat#send-a-prompt).
