# Create an Artifact

> Ask for a short HTML file, then open it in Artifacts.

This walkthrough makes a short HTML file from a chat reply and opens it in Artifacts. There is no create button on Artifacts. The reply stays a chat until you click **Yes, show dynamic doc**. To preview, share, or download one you already have, see [Artifacts](/using-webai/artifacts).

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select a Persona or open Chat">
    Click **Personas** and click a Persona, or click **Chat** in the left sidebar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Ask for a Hello, World HTML file">
    Send `Write a short Hello, World HTML file.` Wait until the reply finishes. The HTML block, **Open in sidebar**, and **Open in Browser** preview the file. They do not add it to Artifacts.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Show the dynamic doc">
    Under the reply, click **Yes, show dynamic doc**. The reply becomes a preview.

    <Note>
      **Keep as chat** leaves the reply as chat. It does not create an Artifact.
    </Note>

  <Step title="Open it in Artifacts">
    On that preview, click **Open in Artifacts**. The document is listed under that chat.
