# Harvey

> Search Vault projects and documents, and ask Harvey Assistant legal questions.

Search Vault projects and documents, and ask Harvey Assistant legal questions. To connect, choose your Harvey **Region** (**United States**, **Europe**, or **Australia**), paste your **Harvey API token**, and click **Verify and connect**. The token is stored in your system keychain.

Asking Harvey Assistant needs **Write action** on for Harvey in [Settings → Connectors](https://developers.webai.com/settings/connectors.md). Those questions go to Harvey's cloud models when the Persona asks Harvey. Turn **Write action** off to keep Harvey to Vault search.

You ask in Chat. The model picks the tool. Harvey Assistant questions wait for your approval unless you set Harvey to **Always allow**. Tool names show in **Recent tool actions**. You do not type them.

**harvey\_whoami** `read`

Identifies the Harvey service account behind the connected API token.

**harvey\_list\_vault\_projects** `read`

Lists Vault projects and knowledge bases the token can see.

**harvey\_list\_vault\_files** `read`

Lists or filters documents inside one Vault project.

**harvey\_vault\_semantic\_search** `read`

Searches one Vault project and returns matching passages with file names and page numbers.

**harvey\_assistant\_query** `write`

Asks Harvey Assistant a legal question, optionally grounded in Vault files.
